Mullen Hall School
September 27th, 2024
Dear Mullen-Hall Families,
We held our first community meeting on Tuesday.
Fourth graders helped with the reading of the book, “School Is More Than A Building” by Kelley Donner. This is a story about how a great school is so much more than a building. It is a place where children feel accepted for who they are and where kindness and empathy are commonplace. It is a place where children know and feel that people are there for them and that they are safe and loved! It is Mullen Hall!
At every Community Meeting we read a poem from the book “Every Month Is A New Year!” In September Ethiopians greet the new year by celebrating Enkutatash. Students listened to the poem “Daisies” that described the celebration.
Ramen Noodles were served on Wednesday ! Another amazing meal for our Clippers!

The day promotes the message that "Every Child Matters."

We are looking forward to starting off our day with some extra movement!
Drop off location: Surf Drive Beach
Volunteers are welcome in our school!
Whether you volunteer with the PTO, in a classroom, in the office, at school events, or if you are interested in helping but haven’t found a task yet, you will be volunteering as a Falmouth VIPS volunteer.
Please scan the QR code to find out about how to get started, to fill out paperwork, or to get more information about opportunities in our school.
We encourage you to get involved, whether it’s a one-time event, a weekly role, or anything in between!
MUST DO:
Returning families must update the four returning forms and the General Permission Form.
Vehicle Pick Up Reminders:
PLEASE DO NOT GET OUT OF OUR CAR in the line. It slows the process. If you would like to greet your student you may park and walk over to the vehicle pickup area.
If at dismissal and the line is full at the school you must go to the Lawrence School to line up. You may not turn around in the back parking lot by the garden as it is not fair to the others that have already been in line at the Lawrence School.
It is illegal to idle on Hamlin Ave.
When lining up at the Lawrence school please do not block the staff exit from their back parking lot. Thank you for your cooperation.

NEWS FROM MARTHA’S VINEYARD BANKING:
We had a great first day of banking today! It was so much fun to see so many returning faces and to meet lots of new student bankers. Please thank your child for their patience as it was very busy! The student bankers shared with us their savings goals for the year, both how much they'd like to save and what they were saving for, many said "for their future"! We also raffled off two MV Bank piggy banks, congratulations to first grader Isla O. and third grader Caleigh C.
Students are still able to sign up on any Friday morning in the cafeteria. Please be sure that both the parent and the student have signed the application form and the child's social security number is included. Applications and information letters were distributed to students in their folders last week.
We apologize for any inconvenience but the English version of the application form does need to be filled out in lieu of the Portuguese form. Please use the Portuguese form as a guide but send in the English version. We have extra copies of the English form in the cafeteria if your child needs one.
We look forward to seeing everyone again next Friday!
